What’s up, everyone Jay Veniard here with Ventech Search Group and today I want to talk to you about the short and long term employment trends in the Arizona manufacturing market.

If you’re an executive or a hiring manager of a manufacturing facility in Phoenix or Tucson, or maybe considering to build or move your manufacturing facility to Arizona, the outlook for employment in the manufacturing sector looks bright when you look at the labor trends over the next 10 years.

Based on the numbers from 2018 through 2020 the labor market for Arizona manufacturing companies has increased by 3. 6% with total employment of 181,000. Furthermore, the 10 year projections from 2018 to 2028 have the total employment numbers for Arizona manufacturing companies increasing by 13. 2% for a projected total employment of 195,000. This is all good news for manufacturing companies looking to expand or moved to the Phoenix or Tucson area.

However, i’m definitely not Nostradamus, but I am optimistic and predict that these numbers may be a bit low. My prediction over the next 10 years is that we will see close to a 20% increase in total employment here in Arizona.

And that prediction is based on the assumption that automation will take away some of the repetitive and dangerous jobs in most manufacturing facilities. Here are my five key factors that go into this prediction.

Number one. Arizona has a very favorable business climate, making it easy to do business here. Number two. There is an abundance of manufacturing talent, either in Arizona or wanting to relocate to Arizona. Number three.

California is shrinking rapidly as a manufacturing hub due to their high taxes, excessive regulations and exorbitant land costs. Number four.

There is an abundance of open land between Tucson and phoenix that is right for expansion. Just ask Lucid Motors and Nikola, both of which are building brand new state of the art manufacturing facilities in the casa grande area, which is located just south of phoenix and last but not least, number five.

Arizona’s close proximity to California and our southern border. Now, these five key factors are the reason why i’m bullish on the market for Arizona manufacturing.

I believe we will create more jobs than projected and smash the tenure outlook. So if you’re considering moving or building your manufacturing facility in the phoenix or just Arizona area in general and you want some more insight into the health of the labor market, please send me an email call me or simply hit me up on linked in.

I’d love to be your Arizona resource for manufacturing.

I look forward to hearing from you, and I hope we talk soon.

Don’t Take Our Word For It

CEO, Global Manufacturing Organization

"We conducted an engaged search for a VP of Engineering and were shocked by how quickly we were presented with candidates for an executive-level position like this. As we scale, we know who our go-to recruiting firm will be. "

Plant Manager, Automotive Organization

Our HR and talent acquisition team spent 8 months trying to find 4 production managers for our brand new, highly automated cell with no luck. Ventech was able to recruit 4 great candidates within 30 days and we hired all 4. I'm still not sure how they did it, but we are extremely happy with the results and the quick turn around time.

Production Manager Candidate

Ventech has been a group of incredible recruiters for me. They always stay in contact with me, helping me prepare for interviews, and doing everything they can to help me. Within the first week, they had an interview lined up for me and I had multiple offers on the table after just two weeks. I highly recommend having Jay and his team in your corner.
